VIDEO: Winnebago Indian Corn Harvest 2020

“Our vision is to develop a healthier community – through food,” said Aaron LaPointe of our sister company Ho-Chunk Farms.

Their Indian corn project in Winnebago, Nebraska is helping revive a diminishing cultural practice. It’s also a piece of the community’s larger food sovereignty effort.

This year, over 100 community members across several groups helped harvest and process by hand a record 12 acres total.

Flatwater Group’s work directly benefits the Winnebago community by helping support programs and partnerships like this.
