EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Zach Hadenfeldt

Meet Zach Hadenfeldt!

Zach is a Contract Analyst I for Flatwater Group. He considers his job two-fold. First, he reviews contract terms to ensure the best contract possible. Second, he works to maintain contracts to make sure things run smoothly from an administrative level.

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

I like how I get to deal with different issues every day, and that my job gives me the opportunity to learn about several different areas in the government contracting world.

How long have you been with the company? How have you been able to grow personally and/or professionally since you started?

I have been with the company since April 6, 2021. In that short time, I’ve learned quite a bit about how federal contracting offices work, as well as the different business models FWG uses with its federal contracts.

What has been one of your favorite projects so far, and why?

I am currently working on a project where I’ve had to do extensive research on government software and hardware regulations as they apply to some of our contracts. It’s been my favorite project because I’ve been able to learn so many new things, and I’ve been able to collaborate with several people to ensure that we get a lot of work done quickly and efficiently.

What do you like to do outside of work?

During the fall I like to judge debate at the high school and college level. It’s a way for me to give back to this community that was a big part of my life in school, while also learning about new topics.

What is something about you that might surprise people?

I was a philosophy major in college. It’s not something I really talk about unprompted, but I’m always excited to learn about a school of thought that I hadn’t heard of before.

What has surprised you about working for FWG? Or what insights or advice would you give to someone who is thinking about applying to work here or recently started?

Flatwater Group has been an extremely welcoming environment. I’ve had a great time getting to know my coworkers as I continue to work here. I like working for a company with such a dedicated and clear mission as well. It’s rare to find a company that’s truly dedicated to something beyond simple profits, and I’ve found Ho-Chunk, Inc. to be a great place to work because of that fact.

Have you done anything fun or interesting this summer?

Recently I attended the Maha festival in Omaha, Nebraska. It was an amazing experience and one of the best concerts I’ve been to personally.
