SBA 8(a) Benefits
The SBA 8(a) program is a critical part of The Flatwater Group companies. The purpose of this program is to allow Tribal companies the opportunity to compete for Federal contracts on a level playing field. Revenue generated through the contracts won in this program are reinvested in the community; supporting education, employment opportunities, youth programs and housing for Tribal members.
The Flatwater Group includes certified participants in the 8(a) program of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), HUBZone and Buy Indian Programs. The group also includes AS9120A:2009 and ISO 9001:2008 certified companies.
Ho-Chunk Village is a shining example of the positive impact of the SBA 8(a) program. The Ho-Chunk Village is a master planned community featuring a modern mixed-use residential, commercial and industrial development. Started in 2003, the development was designed to fill the housing void and build a brand new community on the Winnebago Reservation. Upon its completion, the Ho-Chunk Village will include over 110 housing units featuring single homes, multi-family rentals and live/work mixed use units as well as commercial and industrial buildings. The success of the Village has exceeded expectations and additional land will be required soon to meet the housing demand. Click here for more information on Ho-Chunk Village.
